13 Dead in Mumbai Boat Collision Involving Navy Speedboat

A boat traveling from Mumbai’s Gateway of India to Elephanta Island met with an accident, killing 13 people.

The accident occurred when an Indian Navy speedboat collided with the passenger boat.

Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis confirmed the death toll, which includes three Navy personnel. Rescuers saved 101 people.

The state government has announced ₹5 lakh compensation for each victim’s family.

The Navy stated that the speedboat lost control during an engine test and hit the passenger boat.

This is the second Indian Navy boat accident in a month, with the previous one claiming two lives.
