Nepal’s Election Commission is preparing for by-elections to fill 13 vacant ward chairperson posts across the country.
As part of the preparation, acting Chief Election Commissioner Ram Prasad Bhandari and other officials met Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli on Friday at Singha Durbar to discuss the plan.
The Commission also proposed holding by-elections for vacant seats in the House of Representatives and Provincial Assemblies in the second week of Kartik.
Additionally, discussions were held regarding the upcoming National Assembly election to fill 18 seats expected to become vacant on Falgun 20.
Currently, Rupandehi-3 in the House of Representatives and Manang-1(2) in Gandaki Provincial Assembly are also vacant.
