Butwal, Ashar 26, 2082 (July 10, 2025) – A 15-year-old boy tragically drowned while swimming in a privately dug fish pond in Tilottama Municipality-7, Bhallwari, Rupandehi.
According to DSP Indra Bahadur Rana of Butwal Area Police Office:
- The deceased has been identified as Pragyan Gautam (15).
- He had entered the pond, owned by Narayan Banjade of Manigram, to swim around 6 PM on Wednesday.
- A police team was deployed after he failed to return, and his body was recovered around 10 PM.
The pond had been dug specifically for fish farming, and was not meant for recreational use.
The body has been sent to Lumbini Provincial Hospital for post-mortem, and an investigation is ongoing.
