A tragic road accident took place today in Saptari district, where two motorcycles collided on the way to Bhaluwa, killing both riders. One more person was injured but is now out of danger.
According to the police, the accident happened on the inner road near Hanumannagar Kankalini Municipality-1. The motorcycles, registered as Ko 10 Pa 562 and Ba 55 Pa 6639, crashed while heading in opposite directions.
The victims have been identified as 19-year-old Avinash Mandal from Rajpur, Shambhunath Municipality-11, and 34-year-old Om Prakash Panjiyar from Bairwa, Kanchanrup Municipality-1. Both were riding the bikes and died during treatment—Mandal at Gajendra Narayan Singh Hospital in Rajbiraj and Panjiyar at Neuro Hospital in Biratnagar.
Subash Mahato, a 30-year-old riding pillion on Panjiyar’s bike, was injured but has been discharged after treatment.
Police are currently investigating the exact cause of the crash.
