22 People Rescued Safely from Narayani River, One Tipper Sinks

A group of 22 people stuck in the middle of the Narayani River in Chitwan has been rescued safely by the Armed Police Force. The incident happened at Shivaghat, Bharatpur-16, where people were working to extract sand and gravel by building a temporary dam across the river.

Suddenly, the dam broke, and those working on the riverbed were trapped on an island-like area in the middle of the fast-flowing water.

As soon as the rescue team from Armed Police Force Unit 17 in Chitwan got the information, a team led by Inspector Chamanarayan Mahato, along with divers, rushed to the spot. They successfully brought all 22 individuals back to safety using boats.

Unfortunately, a tipper truck used to carry the extracted materials sank into the river when the dam broke. Thankfully, no injuries were reported.
