A 23-year-old man has been arrested in Aurahi Rural Municipality-5, Siraha, with over 212 kg of illegal marijuana, according to police officials.
The arrested individual has been identified as Ram Udgar Malah, a local resident. Acting on a tip-off, a joint police team from District Police Office Siraha and Aurahi Police Post apprehended him on Friday night while he was transporting the drugs.
According to Police Spokesperson Birendra Kumar Paswan, Malah was caught with seven sacks of marijuana weighing 212 kg and 925 grams, being carried on a Pradesh 2-01-003P 2154 registered motorcycle.
Upon seeing the police, other individuals fled the scene, leaving behind the motorcycle and the suspect. Police have intensified the search for the absconding accomplices, and further investigation is ongoing.
