Two assistant sub-inspectors and 30 other police personnel, including constables, from Nepal Police have been untraceable for over two months.
The Police Headquarters has published a list of officers who have been absent without authorization since October and has instructed them to report within seven days.
The absent assistant sub-inspectors include Sundar Sen from Gaumukhi Rural Municipality-3, Pyuthan, who was stationed at the Dang Prison Security Guard, and Buddhi Man Tamang from Khijidemba Rural Municipality-5, Okhaldhunga, who was posted at the Ramechhap Prison Security Guard.
As per the Police Headquarters, Sen has been missing since October 16, while Tamang has been untraceable since October 30. Out of the remaining 28 personnel, five are technical police constables, 22 are constables, and one is an office assistant.
The Police Headquarters has further clarified that if these personnel fail to appear with a valid and satisfactory explanation for their unauthorized absence within the seven-day deadline, they will be dismissed from service under Clause 109, Sub-section (Kha)(1) of the Police Regulations.
