Police in Kathmandu have arrested four people accused of cheating Nepali citizens by promising them jobs in foreign countries.
The suspects are:
- Bikash Gurung, 43, from Tanahun
- Ranjana Adhikari, 36, from Sindhuli
- Yadav Prasad Ghimire, 40, from Taplejung
- Lokjan Khadka, 52, from Kanchanpur
They were caught from different areas of Kathmandu by the team from the Valley Crime Investigation Office.
According to police reports:
- Gurung took NPR 5 lakh from someone, saying he would send them to Azerbaijan
- Adhikari took NPR 3 lakh for a job promise in Japan
- Ghimire collected NPR 50,000 also for Japan
- Khadka took NPR 4.4 lakh claiming to offer a job in Thailand
After collecting the money, all four had been on the run. Police found them and handed them over to the Foreign Employment Department in Tahachal for further investigation.
