60-year-old man goes missing after jumping into Bheri River

A 60-year-old man from Surkhet has gone missing after jumping into the Bheri River on Wednesday afternoon.

According to the District Police Office Surkhet, the incident took place around 2:20 PM when Gopal Wali, a resident of Simkholi, Gurbhakot-11, jumped off the Bheri River bridge near Bhedabari in Gurbhakot-10.

Local residents informed the police at the Mehelkuna Police Post at 2:35 PM, just minutes after witnessing the incident.

A search team led by Assistant Sub-Inspector Bhupendra Adhikari, consisting of five police personnel, was immediately dispatched to the site.

Surkhet police have confirmed that search operations are ongoing, but Wali remains missing as of now.
