Nepal Battles Bangladesh for a Spot in the Women’s U-19 Asia Cup Final

Nepal is set to face Bangladesh today in the Super Four of the Women’s U-19 Asia Cup being held in Malaysia. The match will take place at the Bayuemas Oval cricket ground in Kuala Lumpur.

On Thursday, Nepal and Sri Lanka each earned one point after their match was canceled due to rain. Today’s game is very important for Nepal because a win against Bangladesh could secure their spot in the final.

Nepal started strong in the tournament, defeating Pakistan by six wickets to reach the Super Four. In the group stage, Nepal also shared a point with India after their match was canceled due to rain. Based on run rate, India topped Group ‘A,’ and Nepal finished second.

The tournament features six teams, including host Malaysia. Group ‘A’ consists of Bangladesh, Malaysia, and Sri Lanka, while Group ‘B’ includes India and Pakistan. Both Pakistan and Malaysia have been eliminated from the competition.

Nepal’s team is led by captain Pooja Mahato, with Soni Pakhrin as vice-captain. Other players include Sana Praveen, Jatsnika Marasini, Kusum Godar, Elisha Kumari Yadav, Savitri Dhami, Krishna Gurung, Tirsana Bishwakarma, Kiran Kumari Kunwar, Riya Sharma, Rachna Chaudhary, Seema KC, Sneha Mahara, and Anu Kadayat. The tournament runs until December 22.
