Tribhuvan University (TU) cricket ground has reopened bids for the construction of floodlights and a parapet.
The Federal Secretariat Construction and Management Office, under the Ministry of Urban Development, announced bids today for international-standard floodlights and a parapet.
The estimated cost is Rs. 1.62 crore for the parapet and Rs. 1.73 crore for the floodlights. Bidding costs between Rs. 20,000 to Rs. 10,000, and bids must be submitted by Magh 6 at 12:30 PM. The bids will be opened the same day at 1:30 PM.
Previous bidding processes for floodlight installation were canceled twice.
In the fiscal year 2079/80, the then Finance Minister Janardan Sharma allocated Rs. 20 crore for upgrading the Kirtipur ground, with Rs. 10 crore each for ground improvement and floodlights. However, the floodlight budget remained unused and was returned.
In the fiscal year 2081/82, Rs. 20 crore has been allocated for the floodlight installation at the TU ground.
