Kanchimaya had gone to a nearby field to cut grass and did not return home on time. Family members began searching for her and found her body about 500 meters east of her house with injuries, police inspector Thakur Prasad Sapkota said.

Past Incidents and Rising Wildlife Threats
Four months ago, in Manahari, a tiger died after being attacked by a buffalo. On Bhadra 5, in Manahari-6, a buffalo owned by Balbahadur Rai fatally injured a tiger that had attacked it. A technical report by the Chitwan National Park confirmed that the tiger, being old and injured, died from the buffalo’s retaliation.
Manahari, which is connected to the eastern buffer zone of Chitwan National Park, frequently experiences human-wildlife conflict, leading to loss of life and property each year.
Residents have long demanded fencing and other measures to reduce the risks posed by wildlife, but the government has not addressed their concerns. In addition to tigers, elephants have also caused significant damage in the western part of Manahari.
Manahari shares borders with Parsa National Park and Hetauda Sub-Metropolitan City. Wild animals from Parsa National Park often create havoc in wards 1 to 4 of Manahari and wards 12, 13, and 14 of Hetauda.
