Police in Kailali have arrested nine individuals with illegal drugs from various locations, including Dhangadhi, on Friday. Among the arrests, seven were made in the Dhangadhi sub-metropolitan area. Mohan Rana, a 34-year-old resident of Krishnapur Municipality-7, Kanchanpur, was apprehended near the customs office in Dhangadhi-2 with 6 grams and 180 milligrams of brown heroin hidden inside the handle of his motorcycle. Similarly, Bahali Rana (29) of Dhangadhi-13 and Dipak Rana (31) of Dhangadhi-6 were caught at Trinagar Customs Chowk in Dhangadhi-2 with 500 milligrams of brown heroin during a search of their scooter.
In another case, police arrested 25-year-old Prabhupan Rana from Ghuiyaghat in Dhangadhi-10 after finding 840 milligrams of brown heroin concealed in the front part of his motorcycle. Near the suspension bridge in Dhangadhi-13, two individuals, Pradip Rana (24) and Anil Rana (30), both from Krishnapur Municipality-9, Kanchanpur, were found with 890 milligrams of brown heroin.
In Tikapur Municipality-2, near the eye hospital, 23-year-old Bikram Budha and 19-year-old Milan Tamatta were arrested with 80 milligrams of brown heroin. Additionally, police seized 69 grams and 340 milligrams of cannabis from a snack shop in Kedar Tole, Dhangadhi-3, operated by 40-year-old Roshan Mahara, a resident of Patan Municipality-8, Baitadi.
They also discovered 10 liters of illegal homemade alcohol at the shop. All the suspects are in custody as further investigations continue, according to the police.
