In the second phase of the ANFA Women’s League Football, the Armed Police Force (APF) Club has showcased its early dominance for the title. This was evident once again in Monday’s match, where APF easily defeated the Walling Municipality team with a commanding 9-0 victory.
The star of the match was Rashmi Kumari Ghising, the hat-trick hero. She had also scored a hat-trick in the previous match against Bagmati Youth.
APF secured its second consecutive win, climbing to the top of the table. APF is the only team in the tournament with a 100% winning record. This victory marks APF’s second-largest win in this season’s league. Earlier, in the first phase, the team had defeated Sudurpaschim 19-0. In terms of goals scored, APF stands far ahead of its rivals.
APF now has six points, followed by Police and Army with four points each. After each team has played two matches in the second phase, Police is in second place based on goal difference. Bagmati Youth Club ranks fourth, also on goal difference. Both Bagmati and Walling remain pointless.
In the match held at the ANFA Complex ground in Satdobato, Rashmi scored four goals for APF. She completed her hat-trick within 14 minutes. Rashmi opened the scoring in the 3rd minute, followed by Geeta Rana’s second goal in the 5th minute. Rashmi then added two more goals in the 6th and 17th minutes to complete her hat-trick. Saru Limbu contributed two goals, in the 31st and 39th minutes.
Geeta scored her second personal goal through a penalty in the 42nd minute, giving APF a seven-goal lead at halftime. Rashmi scored her fourth goal in the 77th minute of the second half. The final goal was netted by Anita KC in the 90th minute. On Tuesday, Police will face Bagmati in the next match.
