Light rainfall accompanied by snowfall occurred in the high Himalayan regions of the district starting Tuesday evening. Life has been affected in the northern high-altitude areas, including the Pathibhara Temple, a pilgrimage site situated at an altitude of 3,794 meters.
Police Constable Milan Katuwal from the Fedi Police Post informed that snowfall is ongoing in the Fedi settlement along the trail leading to the Pathibhara Temple and above. Despite the snowfall, he stated that daily life remains normal.
This marks the first light rainfall in the district after a long dry spell. Farmers who had planted winter crops were facing difficulties due to the lack of rain since the start of the winter season. However, the recent light rainfall and snowfall have brought some relief to the farmers.
Executive Director of the Pathibhara Area Development Committee, Prajin Hangbang, noted that the number of pilgrims visiting Pathibhara has decreased in recent days due to the cold weather. However, he added that snowfall often attracts an increased influx of domestic religious tourists to Pathibhara each year.
