Police constable Wakil Bista, stationed at the Sudurpashchim Disaster Management Battalion in Mahendranagar, Kanchanpur, passed away during treatment on Friday after shooting himself.
According to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Umesh Raj Joshi of the District Police Office, Kanchanpur, Bista died while undergoing treatment at Nisarga Hospital in Kailali.
On the night of Wednesday, Magh 9, Bista, who was on duty at the armory (weapon storage area) in Kot Gadar, shot himself in the head.
He was critically injured and initially rushed to Mahakali Provincial Hospital for treatment. However, when treatment there was not possible, he was transferred to Nisarga Hospital in Kailali for further care.
