Strong Wind Causes Damage to Border Administration Office and Private Houses

The strong wind has blown away the roof of the Border Administration Office in Namche, Khumbu Pasanglhamu Rural Municipality-5, Solukhumbu. On Thursday, the strong wind removed the roof of the four-story office building, which was made of cement, stone, wood, and tin.

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Dwarika Prasad Ghimire from the District Police Office, Solukhumbu, the wind also damaged a private house and blew away solar panels from four houses.

In Namche, the wind removed the tin roof of a two-story stone and mud house belonging to Pasang Lhamu Sherpa. It also took off the roof of Lama Kaji Sherpa’s house.

Additionally, it blew away ten solar panels (500 watts each) from Nima Nuru Sherpa’s house, ten solar panels (500 watts each) from Dorje Lama’s Khangri Hotel & Lodge, three solar panels (500 watts each) from Ang Nuru Sherpa’s Holiday & Lodge, and sixteen solar panels (200 watts each) from Sonam Dawa Sherpa’s Khumbuche Lodge.
