Irv Gotti, the influential music producer and co-founder of Murder Inc. Records, has passed away at the age of 54. His death was confirmed by The Hollywood Reporter on February 5, 2025. The cause of death has not been officially disclosed, though earlier rumors suggested Gotti had suffered a stroke and brain bleed.

Gotti, born Irving Domingo Lorenzo Jr., was instrumental in shaping the careers of numerous hip-hop legends, including Jay-Z, DMX, Kanye West, and Ja Rule. His label, Murder Inc. Records, founded in 1998, became a major force in hip-hop and rap, contributing to some of the genre’s biggest hits.

The producer had long struggled with health issues, including diabetes, which he openly discussed in interviews. In 2023, Gotti spoke about his battle with the disease, acknowledging how it impacted his body. His health challenges were further compounded by a minor stroke in 2024, for which he had been recovering.
