A government employee from Malikarjun Rural Municipality has died after being hit by a vehicle in India.
Jagadish Awasthi, the head of the Enterprise Development Branch at Malikarjun Rural Municipality, was from Ward 5, Dadakot. According to the municipality, he passed away in an accident on Sunday.
Chief Administrative Officer Narbahadur Thagunna stated that Awasthi was traveling to the Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj, India when he was hit by a vehicle in Lucknow.
He was seriously injured when a vehicle struck him while he was getting out of his car. He was rushed to the hospital for treatment, but doctors declared him dead upon arrival.
Following his passing, Malikarjun Rural Municipality declared Monday a day of mourning in his honor.
