Olympian Baikuntha Manandhar has been named the Goodwill Ambassador for the upcoming Shine Resunga National 10,000-meter Race in Butwal, scheduled for Fagun 11. Known for his record-breaking performances in the South Asian Games, Manandhar aims to inspire a culture of running for health and fitness through this event.

Expressing gratitude to the organizers, Shine Resunga Bank, Manandhar emphasized the importance of developing a daily running routine to promote a healthier lifestyle.

The race, themed “Run to Shine,” will feature three categories: open women, open men, and participants over 50 years old. Athletes from across the country will compete for a total prize pool of 500,000 rupees, with the winners of the open categories receiving 100,000 rupees each, marking a record for the highest prize money in Nepal for a 10-kilometer event.

Additional prizes will be awarded for second, third, fourth, and fifth place, as well as for winners in the local and over-50 categories. The event is expected to be a major boost to the promotion of running in Nepal.
