Apple is set to bring artificial intelligence (AI) features, a guest mode, and a spatial content app to its Vision Pro headset through an upcoming software update, according to a report by Bloomberg. These new features could be available as early as April 2025, with a beta version expected for developers this week.
What’s Coming to Vision Pro?
Apple’s planned update for Vision Pro will include:
- Apple Intelligence – AI-powered tools to enhance usability.
- Guest Mode – Allowing multiple users to experience Vision Pro.
- Spatial Content App – A new way to interact with immersive 3D content.
These additions come as part of Apple’s effort to increase Vision Pro’s appeal amid growing competition and its high price tag of $3,499.
Apple’s AI Push
Apple has been working hard to integrate AI into its devices, aiming to stay ahead of competitors like Meta and Microsoft. The company is also in talks with Tencent and ByteDance about incorporating AI models into iPhones sold in China.
For Vision Pro, AI features will include:
- Writing Tools Interface – AI-powered assistance for text and notes.
- Genmojis – Custom AI-generated emojis.
- Image Playground – A creative tool for generating images.
Will AI Help Vision Pro’s Sales?
Vision Pro launched in February 2024 to great excitement, but sales have slowed due to its high price and competition from more affordable VR headsets like Meta Quest. With this update, Apple hopes to revive interest and make Vision Pro a more powerful and user-friendly device.
