Women-Led Swizzle Ventures Hits $6.6 Million Fundraising Milestone

Swizzle Ventures has successfully closed its Fund I with $6.6 million, surpassing its initial target of $3 million, as confirmed by the firm’s founder, Jessica Kamada. Launched quietly in 2023, the firm had already exceeded $5 million in funding by December, according to SEC filings. Fund I’s investment focus will center on women’s health and wealth, addressing critical issues such as caregiving and financial management.

Kamada shared that 70% of the fund’s limited partners (LPs) are women, and half of them are experts in the areas Swizzle Ventures is targeting. The firm plans to invest between $100,000 and $200,000 in pre-seed and seed-stage companies. With 11 companies already backed, the goal is to invest in 30 companies through Fund I.

Based in Seattle, Kamada has a background in marketing and startup advising. She revealed on LinkedIn over a year ago that she left her job after nearly eight years without a clear next step, which led to the founding of Swizzle Ventures.

Swizzle’s Fund I enters a significant moment in venture capital, as issues like caregiving and women’s health gain attention, especially after the Roe v. Wade decision was overturned. The firm also aligns with the anticipated generational wealth transfer, where women are expected to inherit substantial capital in the coming years.
