Four Nepali nationals lost their lives, and six others sustained serious injuries in a road accident in Uttar Pradesh while returning from the Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj. The accident occurred on Friday night when their vehicle collided with a tractor-trolley on the Gorakhpur Link Road under the jurisdiction of Bansgaon police station.
According to reports, the deceased include three individuals from Saptari and one from Sunsari. They have been identified as Liladevi Chaudhary (Kanchanrup Municipality-7), Parshuram Chaudhary (Kanchanrup-7), and Hariharadevi Yadav (Kanchanrup-5, Pipara Purva) from Saptari. Additionally, Samatoliya Devi Yadav of Kushaha Rural Municipality-1, Sunsari, also lost her life.
Saptari police spokesperson DSP Jitendra Basnet confirmed that Indian authorities informed them about the fatalities and injuries. Among the injured are teacher Upendra Chaudhary, Jeetu Yadav, and two individuals from Udayapur. Indian police reported that all the injured are in critical condition and are receiving treatment at a local hospital in Gorakhpur.
