A man has been arrested for scamming people with fake promises of foreign employment.

Dipesh Shrestha, a 30-year-old from Chautara Sangachokgadhi Municipality-1, Sindhupalchok, was living in Kageshwori Manohara Municipality-9, Kathmandu. He was arrested for allegedly taking money by falsely promising to send someone to the UAE with a high-paying job.

According to the police, Shrestha took NPR 400,000 from a victim and then disappeared. Based on the victim’s complaint, officers from the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office in Teku arrested him from Kageshwori Manohara Municipality-9.

Shrestha has been sent to the Department of Foreign Employment in Tahachal, Kathmandu, for further investigation and legal action.
