A couple was found dead on Saturday afternoon, and it has been confirmed that they were murdered. According to the district police office in Pyuthan, the victims, 60-year-old Ram Bahadur Pariyar and 56-year-old Hukuma Pariyar from Ratapani, Mandavi Municipality-2, were murdered.
There were signs of injuries on their heads and other parts of their bodies, indicating that they were killed in a brutal way using a deadly weapon, as suggested by the initial investigation, said Police Inspector Niranjan Rizal. He added that a team from the district police office, led by Deputy Superintendent of Police Dipesh Basyal and Police Inspector Keshav KC, had been at the crime scene since Saturday to investigate the matter. According to Rizal, “It looks like a murder, and we are close to solving the case.”
The crime scene has been sealed off, and both manual and technical investigations are being conducted. The investigation team is questioning suspicious individuals and gathering evidence, even using a dog to help collect more proof, said the district police office. The couple had not woken up by late morning, and neighbors contacted the police.
According to DSP Basyal from the district police office, the couple lived alone at their home. Their four sons lived in neighboring India, and their two daughters were married and living in Dang.
