Director Tulsi Ghimire, who has recovered, is back to shooting for his upcoming film ‘Pahad.’ The shooting had to be halted on the second day when he fell ill, and he was treated for pneumonia in a hospital in Chitwan. Now that he’s recovered, he has returned to the shooting set in Gorkha.
Ghimire mentioned that the shooting has resumed according to the original schedule. The film is based on the story of the social and economic impact on Nepal’s rural hill settlements that are disappearing.
After recovering, Ghimire is working with renewed energy. The film is produced by Ojashwi KC, with cinematography by Pramod Pradhan. This marks Pradhan’s return to Nepali films after working on Indian films, web series, and other projects.
Pradhan is shooting for the film in Gorkha and nearby areas for 25 days, with 15 days of shooting in India. Ghimire shared that the film is being made under the banner of Bhagyaratna Films Pvt. Ltd. The cast includes Bipin Karki, Sunil Thapa, Madan Krishna Shrestha, Renu Nath Yogi, Arun Chhetri, Rabindra Singh Baniya, and Salona Bajracharya. Ghimire’s younger daughter Panchami is also making her debut in the film.
Ghimire’s elder daughter Bhawana has taken on the role of production designer for the film. Ranjit Gazmer will be the music director, and Bharti Ghimire will be the creative director.
The film is being co-produced by Rimpoce Lama Thing and Suresh Lama Thing. It will be distributed by Bankatesh Entertainment in Nepal and Seven Seas International for international markets. This will be Ghimire’s first film as a director since ‘Darpanchhaya 2.’
