Vinay Sapru on Salman Khan as the Ideal 90s Romantic Hero

Filmmaker Vinay Sapru, co-director of Sanam Teri Kasam alongside Radhika Rao, recently revealed that if the film had been made in the 1990s, Salman Khan would have been the ideal choice for the lead role. In a conversation with India Today, Sapru described Salman as the “ultimate romantic hero of the era.”

Salman Khan: The Perfect 90s Romantic Hero

When asked about potential casting for Sanam Teri Kasam in the 90s, Vinay Sapru stated, “Without a doubt, it would have been Salman! His innocence, the way he looks at and holds his co-star, and the sincerity of his emotions made him the quintessential romantic hero of that time. He had the unique ability to make his leading ladies shine just by sharing the screen with them. His presence alone was enough to make any co-star special.”

Vinay Sapru’s Admiration for Salman

Praising Salman Khan’s legacy, Sapru continued, “Who wouldn’t want to collaborate with Salman sir? As Radhika mam often says, he is an institution in himself. Being a superstar for over three decades with such unparalleled longevity is remarkable. We are just waiting for the right script and the right moment. Whenever our mentor gives the green light, we would be honored to work with him again.”

Vinay Sapru and Salman Khan previously worked together in the 2005 romantic drama Lucky: No Time For Love, which was written and directed by Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru. The film starred Sneha Ullal alongside Salman Khan.
