Football legend Gianluigi Buffon has stated that Nepal can also play in the FIFA World Cup. Speaking to the media at Tribhuvan International Airport on Sunday, Buffon, who arrived to watch the KP Oli Cup final, said that with hard work and investment, Nepal could reach the World Cup.
“The Nepalese team can also play in the World Cup, but it requires a lot of hard work and investment,” said Buffon, an icon of international professional football.
He also shared that his long career in football was possible due to his dedication and hard work. “Football is my biggest passion, and I worked hard to stay in the game for so long,” he said.
Buffon arrived in Nepal on Sunday and will watch the KP Oli Cup final on Monday, where Machhindra and Tribhuvan Army Club will compete for the title. He is scheduled to leave on Tuesday. He traveled to Nepal with his wife, Ilaria D’Amico, and his manager.
One of the greatest goalkeepers of all time, Buffon has played over 1,100 professional matches, with most of his best performances coming in Serie A. He made his Serie A debut with Parma in 1995 and also ended his senior career at Parma.
