India’s top golfers Shubhankar Sharma, a two-time winner on the DP World Tour, and Veer Ahlawat, last year’s runner-up, will lead the strong Indian lineup for the 2025 Hero Indian Open. The tournament will take place at the DLF Golf and Country Club in Gurugram from March 27 to 30. Other confirmed Indian players include Shiv Kapur, Manu Gandas, and rising star Kartik Singh, who has been impressive in recent international amateur events.

Ahlawat, who won the Indian Order of Merit, now competes on the DP World Tour, while Gandas also participated in the 2023 DP World Tour. Defending champion Keita Nakajima of Japan will return to lead the international challenge, alongside German golfer Marcel Siem, who ended a 10-year title drought in 2023. Other notable international players include Jacques Kruyswijk, Johannes Veerman, and Julien Guerrier.

The Hero Indian Open is part of the Asian Swing, alongside tournaments in Singapore, China, and Hainan. Co-sanctioned by the Indian Golf Union (IGU), the event offers the Indian Tour winner a full DP World Tour card for the following year.

IGU president Brijinder Singh highlighted the tournament’s role in promoting Indian golf, while DP World Tour’s Ben Cowen expressed excitement about returning to India for this prestigious event. To encourage the growth of the sport, a gaming zone and coaching sessions for kids and aspiring golfers will be available during the tournament.
