Namo Buddha Youth Club (NBYC) secured the Wai Wai 5th Panchthar Gold Cup 2081 title, defeating Machhindra FC 1-0 in a thrilling final. Machhindra was without key players like Sanish Shrestha, captain Bishal Shrestha, and Ayush Ghalan, but NBYC still had to put on an impressive performance to claim the trophy.

The final was an intense, end-to-end battle with both teams constantly attacking. The match, played in a nine-a-side format, was decided in the 72nd minute when NBYC’s foreign player, Alex, scored a stunning goal from outside the box. Receiving the ball, he turned brilliantly, dribbled past one defender, and finished with a precise first touch. Machhindra’s goalkeeper had no chance to stop the well-placed shot.

NBYC captain Jiyarat Sheikh played a key role as the goalkeeper, ensuring his team did not concede a single goal in the final.

The final witnessed an overwhelming crowd, with ticket sales totaling NPR 538,500 for the match.
