Four student organizations at Tribhuvan University(TU), Kirtipur, have called for the resignation of the Election Committee Chair, Professor Dr. Krishna Prasad Neupane. These organizations accuse the Election Committee of being biased.
The student groups—Nepal Students’ Union, All Nepal National Free Students’ Union (Revolutionary), National Democratic Students’ Organization, and New Power Students’ Union—have issued a statement demanding Neupane step down.
Reason Behind the Demand
The student organizations claim that Neupane has interfered with candidate nominations, made unfair administrative decisions, and disrupted the election process. As the student groups have continued their protest by locking the election office at Tribhuvan University, the student union elections, scheduled for March 18, now face uncertainty.
