Serie A

Tijjani Reijnders helped AC Milan avoid a big embarrassment with a late goal in their 2-1 win over Como in Serie A. The Dutch midfielder scored in the 76th minute after a clever pass from Tammy Abraham, completing Milan’s comeback from a first-half deficit. The victory moved Milan up to seventh place, keeping their European hopes alive.

Reijnders also played a key role in Milan’s first goal, setting up Christian Pulisic for an equalizer early in the second half. The 26-year-old nearly scored again, hitting the crossbar before finally finding the net.

“I always try to help my team with goals and assists. Today, I was able to do that,” Reijnders told DAZN after the match.

Fans Frustrated Despite Win

Milan’s supporters were not happy, loudly booing the team at halftime when they were trailing 1-0 after Lucas Da Cunha’s goal for Como in the 33rd minute. Even after the win, fans continued protesting against the club’s American owners, RedBird, due to Milan’s inconsistent performances this season.

“We are struggling with mistakes this season,” Reijnders admitted. “We need to keep improving.”

Dele Alli’s Nightmare Debut

Como, managed by former football star Cesc Fabregas, played well but left empty-handed. They thought they had doubled their lead before Pulisic’s goal, but Da Cunha’s second strike was ruled out for a very close offside decision.

Fabregas praised his team’s performance despite the loss: “If I have to lose, I want to lose playing like that. It was great to watch my players fight.”

The match ended on a sour note for Como as Dele Alli, who came on as a late substitute, was sent off moments after stepping onto the pitch. The English midfielder, hoping to revive his career, received a straight red card for a reckless tackle on Ruben Loftus-Cheek.

Fabregas was also sent off for arguing with the referee. “Dele is experienced enough to avoid such mistakes,” he said. “It was a clear red card.”

Other Serie A Results

In other matches, Verona boosted their survival hopes with a 1-0 win over Udinese, moving seven points clear of the relegation zone. Meanwhile, bottom-placed Monza inched closer to Serie B after a 1-1 draw with Parma.
