10th National Games Mascot and Logo

The mascot and logo for the 10th National Games were officially revealed on Tuesday, as preparations for the country’s biggest sporting event move forward.

Minister for Youth and Sports, Teju Lal Chaudhary, and National Sports Council (NSC) Vice-Chairman, Dhruba Acharya, introduced the mascot and logo at a special event held at the ANFA Complex in Satdobato, Lalitpur.

Even though the announcement took place in Kathmandu, the mascot and logo were designed by the Karnali Sports Development Council (KSDC), the host of the event.

Bikash Tamakhu created the mascot—a red panda, an endangered species found in Karnali. The logo features a pigeon, symbolizing peace, with light blue representing the Karnali River. Seven stripes on the logo stand for the seven provinces, and the national flag is also included in the design.

Minister Chaudhary urged all stakeholders to work together to make the National Games a grand success, assuring that the event will not face further delays.

Meanwhile, NSC Member-Secretary, Tanka Lal Ghising, launched a dedicated website for the games, allowing players, officials, and staff to register online.

The National Games, set to take place in Karnali Province from April 17 to 24, have faced multiple postponements. Initially planned for November last year, the event was later scheduled for April 2025, then moved to May, and even considered for February before finalizing the April date.
