A truck carrying coal fell into the Trishuli River from a place called Chaukilo on the Muglin-Narayangadh road section, killing the driver and injuring the co-driver.
The accident happened today around 6:30 AM when the truck, with registration number Bagmati Province 03-001 Kha 4874, lost control and fell into the river.
According to Chitwan Police, the driver, Ram Narayan Yadav, aged around 30-35 from Rautahat, died in the accident, while the co-driver, 19-year-old Asundar Kumar Yadav, also from Rautahat, was injured.
As soon as the police received information about the accident, a team led by Police Sub-Inspector Thakur Prasad Paneru from the Jugedi Area Police Office was sent to the site. The team rescued the driver and co-driver and took them to Bharatpur Government Hospital.
Doctors referred the injured co-driver to New Medical College, Bharatpur, at 7:50 AM for further treatment. The driver was declared dead at 8:20 AM.
Police stated that the truck was completely damaged in the accident, with half of it submerged in the Trishuli River. Efforts are underway to recover it.
