Hindustani Bhau Takes Legal Action Against Farah Khan Over Holi 'Chhapri' Remark

Hindustani Bhau, a well-known social media influencer and former Bigg Boss contestant, has taken legal action against filmmaker Farah Khan over controversial remarks she made about the festival of Holi. According to Bhau, Khan’s recent comments calling Holi the festival of “Chhapris” were offensive and hurtful to Hindu sentiments, potentially fueling communal discord. Bhau has now approached the Bombay High Court, seeking the registration of a First Information Report (FIR) against the filmmaker.

The issue stems from Khan’s remarks during a recent episode of Celebrity MasterChef, where she referred to Holi as the festival of “Chhapris,” which Bhau considers derogatory. Prior to moving to court, Bhau had also lodged a formal complaint at the Khar Police Station in Mumbai, urging legal action against Khan for her inflammatory statements.

In his complaint, Bhau demanded that stringent measures be taken against Khan under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), including Sections 196, 299, 302, and 353. Speaking to the media, Bhau expressed his anger, questioning Khan’s intentions and knowledge of Indian culture. He stated, “Holi is a festival celebrated by millions, from Prime Minister Modi to saints and the 100 crore people of India. And yet, you’re calling them ‘Chhapris’? Is this how you disrespect our Sanatan Dharma?”

Bhau also accused Bollywood of a long-standing history of mocking Hinduism, claiming that filmmakers and the industry have continuously insulted the Hindu faith, its deities, and its traditions through films and media.
