In Narayandal Chowk, Kankai Municipality-5, Jhapa, a woman was found dead under mysterious circumstances, and her husband was discovered in a serious condition.
According to the District Police Office, Jhapa, 40-year-old Manisha Magranti, who had been residing in Kankai Municipality-5 but originally from Silam, Taplejung, was found dead. After reports of a possible khukuri attack, a team led by Senior Police Inspector (SPI) Radha Krishna Dahal from the Surunga Area Police Office arrived at the scene.
During this, her husband, approximately 39-year-old Lal Bahadur Sarki, was also found with injuries to his neck. The police immediately secured the scene and sent him to the hospital for further examination.
The police reported that Magranti was found hanging by a scarf, with the knot appearing to have been undone later. However, they clarified that no sharp weapon injuries were observed on her body. On the other hand, her husband was found with a cut on his neck, believed to be caused by a sharp weapon.
The District Police Office, Jhapa, has stated that investigations are ongoing to determine the cause of the incident.
