Three of the four people who died in a bus accident in Arghakhanchi on Wednesday evening have been identified.

The victims were 55-year-old Jamuna Basyal from Butwal Sub-Metropolitan City-8 in Rupandehi, 45-year-old Uma Neupane from Bhumi, West Nawalparasi, her 65-year-old mother-in-law (name unknown), and 45-year-old bus driver Madan Kumar BK from West Bardaghat, according to Inspector Bishnu Prasad Paudel of the District Police Office.

The bus driver, BK, was rescued but died on the way to the hospital.

A total of 27 people were injured in the accident. Six of them have been taken to Lumbini Provincial Hospital in Butwal for treatment, while the others are receiving care at the Thada Primary Health Center.

The bus (Lu 2 Kha 303) was returning from Supa Deurali Temple in Arghakhanchi to Nawalparasi when it lost control on a downhill road and fell about 25 meters off the road at Bhuwanpata, Sitapur, in Sitganga Municipality-2.

Police are investigating further.
