Ram Charan’s First Look from Peddi Sparks Pushpa Comparisons

Actor Ram Charan celebrated his 40th birthday on March 27, and to mark the occasion, the makers of his 16th film, Peddi, revealed his first look. While Ram Charan had previously played a rural character in Rangasthalam, many people on the internet couldn’t help but compare his new look to Allu Arjun’s style in Pushpa: The Rise.

The first look from Peddi was shared in two posters on his birthday. One features Ram Charan looking serious while lighting a beedi, and the other shows him wearing a torn shirt and holding a cricket bat. Fans were excited about his rugged appearance, but some quickly pointed out the similarity between this look and Allu Arjun’s from Pushpa.

One fan even compared Ram Charan’s second poster to Yash‘s from KGF: Chapter 1, writing, “Doesn’t this remind you of the first looks from Pushpa and KGF?” Another fan agreed, saying, “It has heavy Pushpa vibes.”

Some fans were happy to see the intensity in both Ram Charan and Allu Arjun’s roles, calling it similar. One even combined both posters to show how alike they looked.

One user jokingly wrote, “Same same but different,” pointing out the similarity in both characters, especially since Sukumar, who worked on both films, was behind the writing for both.

However, Ram Charan’s fans reminded everyone that he had already portrayed a similar rural character in Rangasthalam and suggested that Pushpa’s look might have been inspired by that. One fan asked, “Why is everyone saying it’s similar to Pushpa Raj? Wasn’t it Chitti Babu’s look first?”

About Peddi: The film is directed by Buchi Babu Sana, who worked as an assistant director to Sukumar and made his debut with Uppena in 2021. Peddi is produced by Venkata Satish Kilaru and Mythri Movie Makers, with music by AR Rahman. Besides Ram Charan, the film also stars Shiva Rajkumar, Janhvi Kapoor, Jagapathi Babu, and Divyendu Sharma.
