The final PM Cup Men’s National Cricket Tournament match is underway in Lumbini Province. Tribhuvan Army Club and Nepal Police Club are competing for the championship at Siddhartha Cricket Stadium.
The match began at 9 AM, with Binod Bhandari leading the Army team and Dipendra Singh Airee captaining the Police team.
Both teams entered the final with strong performances, winning 8 out of 9 matches in the group stage. Army lost to Madhesh Province, while Police was defeated by Army in their last group match.
Last year, the Police defeated the Army in the final to claim the title. They also won the Jay Trophy Elite Cup, proving their dominance in domestic cricket.
In the 2017 PM Cup final, the match ended in a tie, and both teams shared the trophy. Since then, the Police have won twice, while the Army has won once.
Army has consistently reached every final since 2017, but they have lost four times. Their only victory came in 2021 against the APF Club.
Police, on the other hand, have won all three finals they have played and are aiming for their fourth title, while Army is looking to equal their record.
Along with the Army and Police, APF Club and Bagmati Province have also qualified for the Jai Trophy Elite Cup after finishing in the top four.
