Sikandar Review: The much-anticipated Bollywood action thriller ‘Sikandar‘, starring Salman Khan and Rashmika Mandanna, hit theatres worldwide on March 30, coinciding with Eid-ul-Fitr. Directed by renowned Tamil filmmaker AR Murugadoss, the film marked another collaboration between Salman Khan and producer Sajid Nadiadwala, following their 2014 blockbuster Kick.
However, despite the hype, the film has received mostly negative reviews from audiences, with many calling it outdated and lacking freshness.
Viewers Disappointed with ‘Sikandar’
After watching the first-day first-show, moviegoers shared their reactions on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), expressing disappointment over the film’s predictable storyline, weak execution, and outdated screenplay. Many also criticized Salman Khan’s performance, calling it unconvincing and uninspiring.
One user wrote, “Sikandar – Disaster. Same old formula, nothing new! Feels like a remix of ‘Jai Ho’ and ‘Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan’—boring, outdated, and painfully predictable. Salman Khan has lost his screen presence, and ironically, he’s the weakest part of his own movie. What a letdown!”
Another viewer added, “Sikandar is an outdated action drama that causes boredom. While the story may have worked on paper, the execution feels forced and silly. There’s no freshness, and even the music is below average. A few action scenes were decent, but overall, it’s disappointing. 1.5/5.”
Criticism on Storytelling and Performances
Several posts slammed the movie for its poor editing, robotic performances, and lack of emotional impact. One review particularly pointed out how even Rashmika Mandanna’s death scene failed to evoke any emotions from the audience.
A user commented, “Nothing in ‘Sikandar’ feels natural. Salman’s performance is weak, the editing is terrible, and the action sequences lack excitement. The background music is out of sync, making it even worse. Apart from a few okay action moments, this film has nothing to offer. 2/5.”
Star Cast and Production
Alongside Salman Khan and Rashmika Mandanna, the film features Kajal Aggarwal, Sathyaraj, Sharman Joshi, Prateik Smita Patil, Kishore, and Jatin Sarna in supporting roles. It is produced by Sajid Nadiadwala under his banner Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment.
Despite the star-studded cast and high expectations, ‘Sikandar’ seems to have fallen short, leaving fans disappointed. Whether it picks up momentum at the box office in the coming days remains to be seen.
