NSL 2025: Defending champions Lalitpur City FC and last season’s runners-up Dhangadhi FC shared points after playing out a 0-0 draw in the Nepal Super League (NSL) 2025 at Dasharath Stadium on Saturday.

NSL 2025 : Intense Moments

Lalitpur almost took the lead in the 9th minute when a powerful header from a cross was brilliantly cleared off the goal line by Dhangadhi defender Caicedo. In the 23rd minute, Imoh Ezekiel found the net for Lalitpur but the goal was ruled offside.

Dhangadhi had their best chance in the 36th minute. Caicedo received a perfect ball from a freekick inside the box and was one-on-one with the goalkeeper, but he shot the ball high and missed.

Tensions Flare in the First Half

In the 39th minute, a foul by Dhangadhi’s George Prince Karki on Lalitpur’s Papa Ibou Kebe triggered a clash. After Kebe fell to the ground, Barboza of Dhangadhi struck the ball hard and nearly hit him. This led to heated exchanges between players of both teams, and multiple yellow cards were handed out.

Second Half Opportunities Go Begging

In the 49th minute, Mani Lama missed a golden chance for Lalitpur. With Dhangadhi keeper Walid out of position and only two defenders on the goal line, Mani shot the ball wide.

Despite energetic efforts from both teams and strong attacking moves throughout the match, neither side could find the finishing touch. Dhangadhi keeper Walid delivered an outstanding performance to keep his team in the game.

NSL 2025: Points and Standings

Lalitpur now have two draws and a win from three matches, collecting five points and sitting second on the table. Dhangadhi have four points from two matches and are in third place.

Individual Brilliance Recognized

Jonathan Cantillana was missed by LCFC. He was their key player, having already scored two goals in two matches and forced Kamal Shrestha into an own goal.

Devendra Tamang of Dhangadhi FC was named Energetic Player of the Match, earning NPR 15,000.
