A fire broke out early Sunday morning in Triyuga Municipality-15, Gurudham, destroying a house completely.
The fire started at a nearby poultry farm and spread to the two-storey house of local resident Mahabir Katuwal. According to District Police Chief SP Hariharnath Yogi, the lower floor of the house was made of concrete, while the upper floor was wooden with a tin roof. The entire house was destroyed in the blaze.
The fire began around 4 AM and was brought under control by 6 AM with help from locals.
Police said the fire destroyed cash worth Rs 600,000, 5 tolas of gold, 5 tolas of silver, furniture, food grains, kitchen items, and clothes stored in the house.
Around 550 chickens in the poultry farm also died in the fire. The total estimated damage is about Rs 9.9 million.
The cause of the fire is still unknown, but thankfully, no one was injured.
