Nepal has continued its winning streak in the ICC U-19 World Cup Asia Qualifier by securing its third consecutive victory.

Nepal Defeats Hong Kong by 9 Wickets

In the match played on Wednesday at the Lower Mulpani Cricket Ground, Nepal defeated Hong Kong by 9 wickets. Nepal chased down the target of 116 runs in just 12.3 overs, losing only one wicket.

Sahil Patel and Naren Bhatt Lead Nepal’s Batting

Opener Sahil Patel remained unbeaten on 42 runs. Captain Naren Bhatt also stayed not out with 39 runs. Earlier in the innings, Niraj Yadav scored 23 runs before getting out.

Hong Kong Scores Only 115 Runs

After winning the toss, Nepal chose to bowl first. Hong Kong was bowled out for just 115 runs in 46.2 overs. Shiv Mathur was the top scorer with 63 runs. Arya Panjwani added 13 runs while Veer Mathur scored 12.

Hong Kong Loses Early Wickets

Hong Kong lost their first wicket when they had only 10 runs on the board. Shiv Mathur and Arya Panjwani tried to build the innings with a 50-run partnership. However, after losing their second wicket at 60 runs, they continued losing wickets regularly and finished with a low total.

Nepal’s Bowlers Shine

Yuvraj Khatri took 4 wickets while giving away only 18 runs in 10 overs. Bipin Prasad Sharma also performed well, taking 3 wickets for 24 runs in 6.2 overs. Santosh Yadav took 2 wickets and Ashok Dhami took 1.

Nepal’s Earlier Wins in the Tournament

Before this match, Nepal had already won against UAE and Oman.

Nepal’s Next Match Against Afghanistan

Nepal will play their final group stage match against Afghanistan on Saturday. Afghanistan is also unbeaten so far and played against UAE today at the Upper Mulpani Ground. They batted first and scored a massive total of 359 runs.

Nepal vs Afghanistan Could Be the Decider

If Afghanistan defeats UAE, the match between Nepal and Afghanistan on Saturday will decide the group winner.
