The Rajasthan Royals (RR) cricket team and the Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA) are in a serious dispute. The issue began after Jaydeep Bihani, the head of RCA’s temporary committee, raised doubts about RR’s recent narrow 2-run defeat against Lucknow Super Giants in the IPL 2025. He hinted that the match result could have been manipulated.
Royals React Strongly to the Allegations
In response, the Rajasthan Royals team management filed an official complaint. They wrote to the Chief Minister, the Sports Minister, and the Sports Secretary. The team asked for strict action to be taken against Bihani for making such serious claims.
Senior Official Denies All Accusations
Deep Roy, a senior team official, said Bihani’s comments were completely untrue. He called them “false, baseless, and without any proof.”
Accusations of Collusion Made Public
Bihani went further by accusing not just the Rajasthan Royals but also the Rajasthan Sports Council and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). He claimed they were working together to leave the RCA’s temporary committee out of IPL activities.
Royals Defend Their Reputation and Role
The Rajasthan Royals strongly denied all allegations. In their official response, they said Bihani’s comments were misleading and harmful. They added that the remarks had damaged the reputation of the Royals, the company managing the team (Royal Multi Sport Private Limited), the Rajasthan Sports Council, and the BCCI. They also said the accusations hurt the image of cricket itself.
Royals Highlight Their Long-Term Partnership
The Royals mentioned their strong relationship with the state for the last 18 years. They said they have always followed the rules of the BCCI. As per the BCCI’s rules this season, the Rajasthan Sports Council has the official right to host IPL matches in Jaipur.
Cooperation with Authorities and BCCI Confirmed
The team made it clear that they are working with both the Sports Council and the BCCI. All their activities are done under the guidance of the state government to make sure the IPL matches are successful.
Bihani Claims RCA Is Being Ignored
Jaydeep Bihani earlier said the RCA has experience hosting big matches, including those held by the ICC and BCCI. He feels the Sports Council is not supporting sports fairly. He claimed the RCA’s temporary committee was left out of IPL preparations and didn’t even receive accreditation cards for the event.
