Olivia Munn is embracing all the beautiful chaos that comes with being a mom of two young children. Ahead of Mother’s Day, the Your Friends & Neighbors star gave fans a hilarious and heartfelt glimpse into her life at home.

Olivia Munn: A Mother’s Day Gift with a Twist

In a funny video shared on Instagram, Munn, 44, showed off a drawing and questionnaire her 3-year-old son Malcolm made for her — while he threw a tantrum in the background. When asked her age on the questionnaire, Malcolm answered “24,” which Munn joked about in the caption:
“For Mother’s Day Malcolm gave me 20 years back.”

Despite the chaos, Munn posed for a photo with her son (even though he insisted he didn’t want to). She also posted a sweet clip with her 7-month-old daughter Méi, pretending to be a superhero.
“Don’t worry, the streets are safe tonight,” she captioned the video.

Not the Strict Parent — And Proud of It

During an appearance on The Kelly Clarkson Show, Olivia Munn opened up about her parenting style, comparing herself to Robin Williams’ fun-loving character in Mrs. Doubtfire.

Olivia Munn admitted she often laughs at Malcolm’s antics — like knocking flowers off the table — while her husband, comedian John Mulaney, takes a more serious approach.
“Apparently, we’re supposed to teach him not to do those things,” she joked, “but I am Mrs. Doubtfire and he is Sally Field.”

A Life-Changing Journey as a Mom of Two

The Iron Man 2 actress also appeared on Today with Jenna and Friends, where she spoke to Jenna Bush Hager about how much her life has changed since welcoming baby Méi in September 2024.

“It’s so much fun every single day,” she said, describing life as a mom of two as something like “landing on Mars.”
“This is insane. How does anyone do this?” she laughed.

A Meltdown Moment — and a Big Realization

Olivia Munn shared a more emotional story from December, when the family was in New York and Mulaney was performing on Broadway. Malcolm had a meltdown because he didn’t want her to hold baby Méi, and Munn ended up in tears.

“I broke down crying — a cry I have never cried,” she admitted.

But even in that moment, Munn found perspective.
“God willing, we get to work and move around like this forever. We’re lucky,” she said.
“Every breakdown, every fit — it all makes me laugh so much. I just have to turn away so I don’t encourage it. Everything makes me really happy.”
