The Nepal U-20 women’s national team will be formed through open selection trials ahead of the upcoming SAFF U-20 Women’s Championship scheduled from July 11 to 21 in Bangladesh.
The All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) released a notice on Tuesday confirming the open trials to build the age-group team. The Nepal U-20 women’s squad will be chosen through regional selection events across three venues.

ANFA has planned three phases of trials for aspiring players:
- Dharan (ANFA Academy Ground): From Jestha 5 to 6
- Surkhet (Karnali Stadium): From Jestha 8 to 10
- Satdobato (ANFA Headquarters): From Jestha 11 to 14
Who Can Participate?
Players born between Poush 17, 2062 and Poush 16, 2065 are eligible to participate. Each participant must bring a birth certificate, citizenship, or passport for verification.
Nepal’s Track Record in U-20 Championship
The Nepal U-20 women’s team is yet to claim a title in this age group. In previous editions, they finished runners-up twice and third place twice. Last year’s championship in Bangladesh saw India and Bangladesh declared joint champions.
Goal: Build a Strong National Side
ANFA’s initiative aims to ensure the Nepal U-20 women’s team is well-prepared and competitive at the regional level. Open trials provide equal opportunities to young talents from all corners of the country.
