Shot While Livestreaming With a Stuffed Toy
Valeria Marquez was sitting at a table, holding a stuffed animal and chatting with her audience during a livestream from her salon when a man suddenly entered. According to the Jalisco state prosecutor’s office, the man fired a gun at her, killing her on the spot.
The video continued for a few seconds after the shooting until someone picked up the phone and stopped the livestream. Local media reports suggest the man approached pretending to deliver a gift.
Police Arrived Within Minutes
The police reached the scene around 6:30 PM local time (12:30 GMT) and confirmed Valeria’s death. Forensic teams are now investigating the crime, and the case is being treated as femicide – a gender-based killing of a woman.

So far, no suspect has been named by the authorities. The mayor of Zapopan, Juan José Frangie, mentioned that Valeria had not reported any threats or sought help from local authorities before the incident.
