People in Birgunj are now using the Safa Nepal app to solve garbage problems quickly. If someone sees trash lying around, they can take a photo and report it directly to the local municipality through the app. Kiran Mandal shared that after reporting garbage blocking a drain near her house, the cleaning team came within two hours to clean it.
This app helps local authorities act fast. Many residents say garbage that was ignored for days got cleaned within two days after reporting through Safa Nepal. The app also helps the municipality track places with waste problems like open drains, illegal dumping, and burning garbage.
The app allows users to upload photos and exact locations of garbage. Officials then get real-time updates and send workers to clean. If trash is dumped carelessly, the app helps monitor and fine those responsible. This encourages people to keep their areas clean.
Sarfuddin Miyan, head of the garbage management department in Birgunj, says the app brings quick response. The system is supported by UK aid and managed by The Asia Foundation and Clean Up Nepal organization. Pranay Sthapit, project director, explains the app helps make local authorities responsible and citizens aware.
The Safa Nepal app also gives information on garbage collection schedules. It connects local governments, service providers, and citizens to work together for cleaner neighborhoods. People can track their complaints via email or the app, making the process transparent.
With Safa Nepal, keeping towns and cities clean is easier than before. It encourages everyone to take part in waste management and creates a healthier environment for all.
