At Munich High-End 2025, JBL revealed three new loudspeakers for its Summit Series. These new models join the existing Everest and K2 and are named after famous mountain peaks, reflecting their premium quality.
The Makalu is the top model, a large three-way floorstanding speaker. It features a 12-inch bass driver and an 8-inch midrange driver with JBL’s special HC4 composite cones. It also uses a D2 compression driver paired with an HDI™ Sonoglass® horn. The cabinet is carefully designed with two finish options: rich ebony with gold highlights or glossy black with platinum accents.
The Pumori is a smaller floorstander but still powerful. It includes a 10-inch bass driver, an 8-inch midrange driver, and the same D2 compression driver with HDI™ horn found in the Makalu. The Pumori’s cabinet also comes in ebony or high-gloss black finishes.
The Ama is a standmount speaker with an 8-inch driver handling both bass and midrange sounds. It also uses JBL’s D2 compression driver and HDI™ horn. The Ama sits on a stylish steel and aluminum stand designed to match.
All three models feature JBL’s MultiCap™ crossover network for smooth sound, IsoAcoustics™ isolation feet to reduce vibrations, and strong internal bracing for durability. These speakers are made with great attention to detail.
The new JBL Summit models will start shipping later this year. Prices are set at $19,995 for the Ama with stands, $29,995 for the Pumori, and $44,995 for the flagship Makalu.
