Rajasthan Royals ended their IPL 2025 campaign on a high note by defeating Chennai Super Kings in their final match of the season.
After losing eight consecutive run-chases earlier in the season, Rajasthan made a strong comeback by successfully chasing a target of 188 runs in just 17.1 overs.
Yashasvi Jaiswal gave the team a fast start with 36 runs off 19 balls, while opener Vaibhav Suryavanshi played a steady innings of 57 runs. Dhruv Jurel helped finish the game comfortably with a quick 31 runs off 12 balls.
For Chennai, Ravichandran Ashwin took 2 wickets, while Noor Ahmad and Anshul Kamboj claimed 1 wicket each.
Earlier, Chennai scored 187 runs for 8 wickets in 20 overs on a good batting pitch. Ayush Mhatre scored 43 runs, Dewald Brevis made 42, and Shivam Dube added 39 runs.
Rajasthan’s Akash Madhwal and Yudhvir Singh took 3 wickets each, while Tushar Deshpande and Wanindu Hasaranga took one wicket each.
With this win, Rajasthan remains in 9th place with 8 points from 14 matches. Chennai Super Kings now need a big win in their final game to avoid finishing at the bottom of the points table.
